who are they? why do they weave between the shadows without batting an eye?? these and more questions to be answered sometime in the future, possibly,

[ID: Many drawings of a tiny kid with long wavy black hair and light brown skin. They wear a short hooded red robe with giant sleeves and a golden emblem on the chest, and black leggings and shoes. Despite the dark circles under their big curious eyes, they heartily dance, play and nestle up to towering hooded silhouettes. They also curl up and pull their hood over their head when overwhelmed, and chew on things. End ID.]

[ID: Goofy doodles of cats done in blue pen. Some of them make cat noises. The top of the page reads "cat time....". End ID.]

cool comic, bro

thats a pretty meta

[ID: A four-panel comic. A smiling man presses his hands together and says to his friend: "Hey, I just saw a comic...". He then looks up at the sky, opens his arms and continues: "It was just one panel and it was all "if you want to make a comic, just do it" and it was really motivational." The friend points at him and asks: "Does that mean you're finally gonna get serious with one of your several epic fantasy scripts?", to which he replies: "Not really". Lastly, the two characters dance together and the man says: "I think for now I just want to practice making any comics at all." End ID.]

had a dream about this hair... effervescent

[ID: A digital bust of a smiling model with their eyes closed. They have messy short straight black hair with electric blue outlines. End ID.]

[ID: An ink and color pencil drawing of pink, blue and purple bubbles. End ID.]

Inktober Day 31: Ripe

thought itd be cool to celebrate the realizations that im the ultimate object of my own desire and affection and that so much of what i make is a mirror facing a mirror to relieve the phantom pain that tears thru my body at irregular intervals. anyway my hairs not this long yet but its important for me to think abt the future as a certainty. no i dont feel like being straightforward. deal with it

[ID: A black and white self-portrait made with ink. A shirtless young man lies on his side in bed. He smiles softly, gazing directly at the viewer with half-lidded eyes. End ID.]

Inktober Day 30: Catch

oh my god what if... youve been holding on to those words all night of all nights... and when you finally work up the courage.. youre overcome with a terrible faintness and then... i snatch the confession from your whispering LIPS-

(i only remembered how bricks worked when it was too late, ok)

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. On an aged street corner labelled "Rue de Beau", two lovers kiss under the lamplight. One kneels on the sidewalk, holding the other in his arms, who lies limply. End ID.]

Inktober Day 29: Injured

return of the guns... i just obsess over things and dont let go huh

[ID: An ink drawing. A figure violently recoils from a gunshot to the shoulder, blood springing from their wound. On the bottom left corner is the assailant's revolver. The black silhouettes of victim and weapon and the bright red blood are in stark contrast against white. End ID.]

Inktober Day 27: Coat

what if... it was raining and neither of us had umbrellas and then... your coat...HHH

i hate sketching environments but i love inking them once everythings nice and figured out. dont ask me where the rain is bc i couldnt see rain in the reference photo either and yet people had their umbrellas out. trust me on this

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. Along the cobbled streets of a picturesque 16th century city, two figures walk closely together, shielding themselves from the rain with a coat. End ID.]

Inktober Day 28: Ride

id say this is a pretty decent car from someone who has no idea how to draw cars. like, if you squint it looks kinda like what your mental image of a car is

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. Two figures in a convertible car drive down a winding country road on a clear sunny day. The one in the front passenger seat has their arms raised in victory. There are high mountains on the horizon. End ID.]

Inktober Day 26: Dark

everything they tell you about the nightsky in the country is true

this one also gave me blisters! worse ones! but by god its gorgeous

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. It is night in the countryside. The Milky Way spreads across the glittering nightsky and the full moon illuminates an aged stone road. In the horizon are a couple of silhouetted acacias. End ID.]

Inktober Day 24: Dizzy

what it feels like when you ████

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. A silhouette filled with scribbles is sprawled at the center of a square with one hand to their head, surrounded by shaking motion lines. The whole picture is tilted.]

Inktober Day 23: Ancient

the single most defining moment in my art career is when i was a kid watching yellow submarine and i saw that the character of lord mayor had straight lines in place of realistic wrinkles, and i thought: "thats neat". everyone should watch that movie. i should watch it again sometime

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. An old farmer sits in the sun with her elbows on a table, her bony hands clasped and her chin resting on her index fingers. Her face is obscured by a large straw hat and her deeply lined skin resembles certain types of tree bark. In the distance is the faint outline of cornfields. End ID.]

Inktober Day 22: Ghost

gost bust

[ID: A black and white four-panel comic made with ink. In the first three panels a door progressively opens to reveal a stumpy dark figure standing there. In the fourth panel, the figure is gone. End ID.]

[ID: An ink drawing of a person from their waist to their chin. They have thick body hair and an unshaven face. They cover their chest with both arms, a glowing red cartoon heart peeking out from behind them. End ID.]

Inktober Day 21: Treasure

its always about the hands. always

[ID: An ink drawing. Two hands hold each other, fingers interlocked. Their arms are covered in long red sleeves, forming a V shape. Concentric outlines fill up the rest of the picture. End ID.]

Inktober Day 20: Tread

i fell asleep while trying to decide what to do with the stairs and then it was the next day so i guess fate decided its just, nothing. literally just stairs

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. Two black silhouettes tiptoe upstairs. End ID.]

Inktober Day 19: Sling

this green marker has a rlly fine point so its actually pretty hard to fill in shapes without overlapping the strokes too much so it still pops

[ID: An ink drawing. The figures are simple and featureless. A mother stands on rippling water. She holds her baby to her chest using her very long green hair like a sling. The hair wraps around her own body, too. End ID.]

Inktober Day 18: Misfit

i couldve used a ruler to get the point across more strongly. but one of my rules (ha) was no rulers, bc then everything takes forever. plus im just averse to ruler usage in general. because of math class. tricky hangout to have when you want to make comics

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. The scene is broken up into rigid shapes with straight angles. On the table of a vanity is a cloth stained with a full face of makeup. The mirror is broken. To the left, a person sits hunched over, their face obscured by long hair. They wear a backless sequin dress and high heels. Their feet are bleeding. End ID.]

Inktober Day 17: Ornament

wouldve been kinda weird if i didnt sprinkle in SOME spooky holiday fun stuff, right? yeah. remember im in the wrong hemisphere for the season...

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. A child with pigtails stands at the doorway of a dark closet. The hallway light falls on piles of cardboard boxes full of Halloween decorations and costume parts: there are fake bones, ghost garlands, scary masks, magician's props and pumpkin buckets, among other things. Dark cobwebs cover the place where the wall and the ceiling meet. End ID.]

Inktober Day 16: Wild

ah here it is. that fence. gave me. blisters. but it was SO worth it because look at this. whoops looks like i spilled my entire aesthetic. what can you do? (appreciate the fence, thats what you can do)

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. In the dead of night, in a city of sparkling skyscrapers, a figure in a fedora and a tattered coat vaults over a chain link fence. In the bottom left corner, a person stands agape pointing a flashlight at the entity. The light reveals their tapetum lucidum. End ID.]

Inktober Day 15: Legend

i have never driven to the woods and pitched a tent and told scary stories around a fire. so whatever yarn guy on the left is spinning here is probably about as fantastical as my perception of the rituals involved in a "camp"

[ID: A black and white ink drawing. In a forest clearing, two figures sit on logs, on opposite sides of a campfire. One tells the other an engrossing story. Behind rows of cartoon pine trees, the sun is rising or setting. End ID.]

Inktober Day 14: Overgrown

this looks... so good. and like it took me ages, but it didnt. hardest part was the dirt texture on the left, tbh. so im a big fan. i promise this is the last morbid one, i was In A Mood that week

[ID: An ink drawing. In the foreground are three graves. The one on the left looks fresh, while the one on the right is covered in well-groomed grass. Red roses have been left on both of them. But the one in the middle is full of unruly weeds. Vines wrap around the gravestone, obscuring its nameplate, and wild dandelions are scattered throughout.

In the background, rows and rows of graves fade into the distance. Above the pitch black sky is a blanket of storm clouds. End ID.]
